I headed back to the Moto Midway Stage and caught the tail end of this concert: Brent James and the Vintage Youth. |

My real reason for returning to the stage... there was a Farewell Celebration for Colin Edwards there. It started late but it was worth the time spent. Here, Edwards is posing for a team photo with his team mate, Aleix Espargaro. |

Nick Harris... and Gavin Emmett... talked to the special guests as they came onstage. Basically, they related stories of knowing Colin Edwards. EVERY one of them had a story about SOME press conference or riders' meeting that Edwards had done somthing fun at. That or they WISHED he had been there to cue them into the perfect (silly) response. |

A lot of the special guests talked about visiting Edward's Boot Camp in Texas. Jorge Lorenzo was surprisingly funny talking about holding a rifle during his boot camp experience. |

While I listened to Dani Pedrosa, I snuck back behind the tent to see if I could get Lorenzo to autograph my Yamaha visor. He was being surrounded and everyone pushing and shoving around him was obviously stressing him out. Weird (or maybe not so weird). I took this picture as I cleared space near me so that his scooter driver could get him away from the crowd. |

Valentino Rossi, always the comic, said everyone would miss Edwards but him especially because all the "youngsters" were too serious so he would no longer have a drinking buddy/practical joke friend. |

The celebration ended with a video showing highlights of his career and life. His wife (very pretty) and son watched with him. |
